 African Mango-what is it?

African Mango is a fruit native to Africa that has been proven to contain some substances that are proven to be very helpful to those who are looking to lose weight. While the fruit has many beneficial properties such as having many vitamins and nutrients, the main benefit comes from the seed of the African Mango. Initially its effect was discovered by native hunters who would crush the seeds into a powder and then eat them. They did this in order to postpone the effects of hunger during a long hunt. We now know that it is an extract from the seed called Irvingia Gabonensis that gives this effect. Irvingia Gabonensis works by reducing your resistance to a hormone called leptin. This will effectively increase the quantity of leptin in your body. This is important as higher leptin levels will result in you having less cravings, storing less fat and having a reduced (but healthy) appetite.

This weight loss technique was popularised by the well known television and radio doctor, Dr Oz. As well as talking about African Mango on his own TV show he also talked about it on the Oprah Winfrey show, perhaps one of the most watched TV shows in America. When Oprah questioned him about the effects of the African Mango diet he had nothing but good to say about it, especially the fact that it suppresses your hunger without causing any of the negative side effects of traditional hunger suppressant such as making people fidgety and get an upset stomach. In addition to this he mentioned how it will reduce the levels of harmful cholesterol in your body, specifically T- cholesterol and HDL- cholesterol, which are two of the most dangerous types of cholesterol that you can have.

Benefits of African Mango

Below is graph that he used as evidence during his TV show. It’s based on results from a scientific study in which participants took Irvingia Gabonensis (i.e African Mango extract). This study took a group of overweight and obese humans and gave them all what they thought to be Irvingia Gabonensis supplements. However, only half of them actually got the Irvingia Gabonensis, the others got a placebo (it has no effect other than making the subject think that they are taking the Irvingia Gabonensis pill, when in fact they are not).

As you can see, the weight loss for those who took Irvingia Gabonensis was an amazing 28 pounds after 10 weeks. This is much higher than the 5 pounds that was lost by those who took the placebo tablet. You should also note that the weight loss is much smoother for those who took Irvingia Gabonensis. This is very important as it shows that the weight loss program is steady, consistent and easy to stick to.

Just so that you know that the results of the test he cited are true, the above is a result from an unrelated study that was carried out in 2005. It comprised  40 obese people ranging in ages from 18-55. Group 1 took the Irvingia Gabonensis supplement. As you can see the fantastic results shown in the 2009 study were not an anomaly,  adding further substance that African mango defiantly does help in the battle to lose belly fat.

Oprah for African Mango?

After airing his show and the Oprah Winfrey interview, the popularity of this diet program has soared.  While the results and various testimonials from people have been exceptional, there have been the occasional blatant self-promotional drop-shippers who have advertised weight loss of up to 30lbs a month. While that may be true (especially for the morbidly obese who dedicate the short term to nothing but weight loss), these cases are at the extreme,or are the one out of a hundred. African Mango is ideal for those who are looking to lose 5-10lbs a month, or up to 5 inches off their waist line and want to know how to lose tummy fat. The long term benefits can be maximized by using the supplement as a means to engage in a healthy diet (without giving up due to the cravings) and by using a proper exercise regimen in conjunction with African Mango.

The only question it seems that you need to ask yourself is how much weight do you want to lose? How many inches off your waist, thighs, arms, or “derriere” do you actually want to lose? How dedicated are you to taking the supplement at the required times? If you’re ready to lose the excess weight you’re carrying around, then African mango is for you.

CASE STUDY FOR AFRICAN MANGO

We decided to supply five people with African Mango and document their results over a 6 week period. There were three women and two men in this case study for African mango. Before we go into the results, let us break down what we were trying to measure and what we were trying to achieve:

-two of the women used African Mango and only that. Although they endeavored to eat healthier, the fact that they worked full time and were in the 40+ category meant that they had virtually no time for additional food preparation or a specific exercise regimen. They both agreed however to limit the amount of alcohol they drank to no more than 1-2 glasses a week.

-one woman used African Mango in conjunction with The Diet Solution Program, a popular eating and exercise regimen program. She was under 30 and had several hours per week to be able to undertake food preparation as well as exercise. Her goal was to lose 3 inches off her belly.

-the final two men used African Mango in conjunction with two specific fat busting programs: Mike Geary’s The Truth Abut Abs and Vince Del Monte’s No Nonsense Six Pack. They were both in their 20s and had committed to undertaking a specific dietary and exercise regimen.

Halfway through the six week challenge all participants agreed on one thing: they had all developed reduced cravings and were eating smaller portions without feeling an overwhelming urge to over indulge and stuff their faces full of food. As a group:

-the two women who were using only African Mango lost 5 and 8 lbs respectively.

- the woman who was using the Diet Solution program in conjunction with African Mango lost 6lbs.While this may not sound much, the fact is she lost almost 2 inches of her waistline, which was her primary goal. She set out to lose 3 inches off her waistline.

-the two men in their 20s lost 8lbs each.

One of the key things to consider when taking African Mango is your goal weight loss. Only one person out of the group of 5 had a specific goal, and that was to lose 3 inches of her waistline. The more clear cut your goals and action plans, the easier success will come.

So…after 6 weeks here are the final results:

-the two women who used only African Mango without undertaking a specific dietary or exercise regimen lost 8 and 10lbs respectively.

-the third woman stopped after 4 and a half weeks as she had lost the 3 inches off her waist she had wanted.

- the two men coincidentally both lost 12lbs. While they did not have a specific goal, both of them wanted to lose the “mini gut” they had gotten from excessive bulking in the gym.

While African Mango does work, we strongly encourage you to have specific goals and action plans to maximize its weight loss ability.
